Attention! Petrobras’ brand has been used by malicious people who offer seemingly advantageous deals involving the Company’s stocks and bonds.

Petrobras does have employees (nor any contractor providing services to the company) authorized to request deposits or transfers on behalf of the Company.

Most common scams

Fund 157

Individuals – identifying themselves as Petrobras employees – contact the victim to arrange for the liquidation of old company shares relating to the former FUND 157. Scammers claim that there are Petrobras shares and dividends withheld on behalf of the victim and claim that in order to be entitled to receive those Petrobras shares, they are required to pay taxes and fees.

Attention! There are no Petrobras shares associated to Fund 157 or any other fund of such nature!

Bonds from the 50s

There are outstanding Petrobras bonds dating back to the 1950s called “bearer bonds”(obrigações ao portador).The rights represented by such bonds have expired and they no longer have any financial value.

Attention! Don’t buy these bonds because they have no financial value.

Right to receive shares

Individuals, identifying themselves as Petrobras employees, contact the victim claiming that they would be entitled to receive Petrobras shares and requesting a deposit in a bank account informed by the scammer to pay fees and taxes.

Attention! PETROBRAS DOES NOT HAVE EMPLOYEES (nor any contractor providing services to the company) authorized to request deposits or transfers on behalf of the Company.

If you receive any approach as described above, we recommend that such facts be reported to the law enforcement authority, which has legitimacy to act in such situations.
